This week on Copy Cat Closet, we were challenged to add a bright pop of neon to our outfits. It's so easy to get sucked into a wardrobe of blah colors, especially in the winter. I had to get creative with this once! I love bright colors, but tend to stick to more jewel tones. Not a lot of items in my closet would be considered 'neon', and there's no way my schedule or budget would allow for any shopping this week.
I had this tank top from Old Navy that I usually only wear as a swimsuit cover-up or summer sleeping tank. I paired it with my secret weapon, these grey skinnies I got from Walmart for $2.57 and always get tons of compliments on. They go with anything, and have help up surprisingly well for such an inexpensive clothing item! The sweater was an old find that I had thrifted, re-sewn new buttons on, and actually given to my sister. But I promptly borrowed it back for this outfit.

Sweater - Thrifted (and new buttons added)
Tank - Old Navy
Skinnies - Walmart
Booties - DSW
Nail Polish - Sally Hansen and Miliani (tutorial here)
My nails needed a new coat of polish, so I tried out this simple manicure to add a pop of color. It's a little tamer than a solid neon nail, without too much more effort. I made a tutorial for the look right here. The base coat was a nude/pink, so I stuck with the rule of keeping the neon colors paired with a neutral.
Had anyone ever completely lost a piece of clothing? I'll leave behind the occasional sweater, scarf or something, but while creating this post I realized that I can't find that pink dress ANYWHERE. It's been a while since I've worn it, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it went. Hopefully it turns up before spring rolls around for real, it's really cute!
Be sure to check out Ma Nouvelle Mode and The Grant Life for the rest of the participants' awesome outfits. Thanks to my sweet sister Emma for taking these pics!

LOVE that you re-fashioned that sweater with bright buttons. And I think you totally transitioned that fun summer top for winter. P.S. can we talk about how amazing your nail design is? I can never get patient enough to do that.. yours look FAB! Thanks for linking up this week :)
